Florida Extends Boat Stays
Florida's governor, Charlie Crist, recently signed into law a bill which will allow non-residents to stay in Florida without paying Florida sales tax for the boat purchase for up to 180 days when he is purchasing, altering or repairing a boat. This is a change from the previous 90 day stay.
State officials believe that this will stimulate the economy and interest in the state's marine industry. "Today, we are helping reignite Florida's economy through legislation that empowers businesses and creates new opportunities for families to be successful in their communities and their careers," Crist said in a statement.
